How We’re Building The Cross-chain Future of Music

MODA is first and foremost a community of musicians, creators, and supporters. We are working on the development of a blockchain music framework, supported by the MODA token (MODA). Our goal is to provide an ecosystem for music, where participants can connect with each other to support, build and grow together. We want to remove boundaries and burdens that do not contribute positively to technological advancement, creative freedom, and a level playing field.

My personal journey as a tech-founder, artist, and musician has reflected so many of the challenges that creatives struggle with every single day. It’s not an easy path, and the tech, commercial, and engagement problems can be soul-destroying.

MODA DAO aims to reward artists and their audiences. Our community is built around creator collaboration and will give artists an easy way to distribute music and generate revenue.

And a part of that has to be a dedication to multichannel and multichain accessibility.

Here’s why…

We Are Building A Music Aggregator For Every NFT Platform.

Users will be able to play NFT audio files from all major NFT platforms and chains with only a few clicks using the NFT aggregator. This enables users to enjoy a unified listening experience, and will eventually lead to Audio NFTs being able to be more easily used by game developers, and developers of other platforms in Web3.

In addition to allowing users to listen to NFT files without having to transfer ownership across several platforms, the aggregator will include a social element, enabling artists and creators to post their music directly into the app for direct streaming to other users.

Users will be able to access NFT audio files from a variety of wallets across multiple marketplaces, bringing music collections together and creating a single point of access for multi-chain music communities and a scaling solution for the Web3 music industry.

MODA Will Create A Custodial Layer & Entry Point For Streamable NFTs

There is a significant potential for MODA to develop into a custodial layer that could help new market entrants join Web3. We’ll be able to connect “Metaverse” users familiar with Web3 technology who will be able to create and expand their music collections through their own wallets, and non-Web3 users who will be able to purchase NFT music through MODA using fiat currencies.

Users will be able to transform custodial MODA collections into their own NFT items using a straightforward procedure that includes in-app content and education. They’ll also be able to move assets from one wallet to another through an easy experience, get started and operate it with in-app material, and learn how to use it.

This will provide MODA with a first-mover advantage in NFT music, allowing us to reach a larger audience without requiring knowledge of Web3 technology. It will also position MODA’s core team to expand into new areas, benefiting from the efforts of a robust community that will add value through its collective user base.

Why We’re Embracing A Multi-Chain Approach

Building bridges with other ecosystems is an essential path to decentralization and accessibility. I see great value in people collaborating together on projects, not just competing with each other. By following a multi-chain path, and launching NFTs, tokens, and DAOs on multiple chains and protocols, we will see the blockchain space grow in novel and powerful ways.

The dissemination of protocol-agnostic works is a key goal for some of the most promising blockchain projects, and our upcoming multi-chain launch for the MODA DAO token is an example of that.

We feel that the development of our token as a multichain offering is paramount to the MODA DAO’s success, and it would be negligent to ignore the benefits of broadening our protocols.

Ethereum’s scalability obstacles have made it difficult for developers to create new decentralized applications. The pain points that have delayed adoption are costly gas fees, a complicated onboarding process, and unnecessarily complex user layers.

Multi-chain support allows decentralized applications to take advantage of different protocols and networks. We can aggregate cross-chain services like liquidity pools, atomic swaps, and prediction markets. The different blockchains in the network form a mesh — a decentralization fabric — that helps disperse risk, making each silo more robust and resilient than any individual chain could be alone.

We knew that not only is a multi-chain launch a great way to build system-level functionality for MODA, but also amazing applications with general appeal and the ability to increase access to Music3, by tokenizing and decentralizing music production, publishing, distribution, streaming, fingerprinting, and collecting.

The MODA token has launched on the Ethereum, Fantom, Near, and Polygon blockchains.

Building the right product for the users you want to reach is a sound strategy, but it can’t stop at one blockchain network. The road to decentralization and scalability is long and winding, with many technological advancements yet to come.

Through our work at MODA, we want to build the foundation for a stronger, community-driven, thriving music ecosystem, rather than a music industry. Our goal is to empower creative individuals and teams, giving them the tools they need to realize their ideas. With a decentralized protocol powered by NFTs, we will make music production and engagement more accessible to everyone around the world.
